Elliot A. Spoon Business Law Writing Competition

The Elliot A. Spoon Business Law Writing Competition is an annual writing competition sponsored by the Michigan State Journal of Business and Securities Law.

The Competition is named in honor of Elliot A. Spoon, dean of the Career Services office, our faculty advisor, a law school professor, and long-time advocate of The Michigan State Journal of Business and Security Law.

The Competition is designed to encourage business law scholarship by upper-level law students nationwide. The winner will receive an honorarium contingent on receipt of a signed publication contract for inclusion within our annual spring issue.

Submission Procedure:

If you are a law student at an ABA accredited law school, then submit:

(1) An electronic copy of your article, either as a pdf or as a Word document;

(2) A brief abstract of your article; and

(3) Your curriculum vitae (CV) with complete contact information.

Deadline: February 20, 2015

Submissions must be emailed to jbsl@law.msu.edu.

Prize: $500 and publication in the Journal of Business & Securities Law.
