10th Annual Heartland Diversity Legal Job Fair

The 10th Annual Heartland Diversity Legal Job Fair (HDLJF) will be held August 1-2, 2014, in Kansas City, Missouri.  Students who are interested in becoming part of Kansas City’s dynamic legal community should strongly consider attending this event.  Students who will be returning to school in August and those graduating in May are eligible to attend the job fair, as employers will be interviewing for both summer and post-graduate positions.

The HDLJF is the result of Kansas City's leading law firms, legal associations, and corporate legal departments coming together to encourage law students to practice law in Kansas City.  The HDLJF is designed to expose law students of diverse backgrounds to both traditional and non-traditional legal employers.  In addition, the event is a great way to learn more about living in this wonderful city.

The HDLJF will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.  It will kick off with an evening Welcome Reception on Friday, August 1st at the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association.  The Saturday schedule includes a continental breakfast, interviewing from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and a luncheon at which participants will be greeted and addressed by a special Keynote Speaker.

Please register as soon as possible.  Students who register before May 16th will be entered into a drawing for exciting prizes.  The final deadline for registering is June 14, 2014.

2nd 2013 Diversity & Inclusion Career Fair - Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association

The Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association is pleased to invite eligible law students to participate in the Second 2013 Diversity & Inclusion Career Fair. The Career Fair offers Job Seekers an introduction and opportunity to interact with potential employers.

WHEN: November 26th from 8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

WHERE: Cleveland State University Student Center Ballroom

ABOUT

The Career Fair will begin with a panel discussion featuring prominent attorneys from a variety of industries and practice areas. After the panel discussion, Job Seekers will begin a speed interviewing session, structured as an informational table-talk event. Job Seekers will have the opportunity to meet and speak with Employers in five minute intervals. After the informational portion has concluded, if the Employer representative finds a Job Seeker he/she would like to interview at greater length, the Employer representative may invite the Job Seeker to return to their table at an appointed time.

COST

The cost to attend will be free for law school students. For all other job seekers, the cost to attend the job fair will be $15.00. Eligible law students must be:

·         Currently enrolled in a juris doctor program and

·         Member of the class of 2014 (current 2Ls/rising 3Ls) or 2013 (current 3Ls)

·         At an Ohio law school or a law school at a historically Black college OR university OR

·         Permanent resident of Cuyahoga County attending law school out of state

REGISTRATION

Before the day of the Job Fair, Job Seekers will register by email. Please send an email to the following address with a resume attached: jobs@clemetrobar.org. The email should contain your name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, year in school or years of legal experience. Each Employer will receive a thumb drive loaded with Job Seeker resumes submitted by November 15, 2013. There will be no onsite resume drop.

The CMBA has negotiated a special rate at the Marriott at Key Center. The special room rate for Employers and Job Seekers is $139. St. Louis Diversity Job Fair Fact Sheet

The St. Louis Diversity Job Fair will be held on August 2-3, 2013.  Law students who are registered for the Job Fair will receive email announcements with all Job Fair specifics or may find information posted on the Job Fair web site: www.stldiversityjobfair.com.

Once a student registers for the Job Fair, they will be given information regarding participating employers’ hiring criteria, offices/cities for which each employer is interviewing, and J.D. year(s) required by the employer. 

Each employer schedule allows for 16 interviews, and each interview is 20 minutes in length.  Interviews begin at 8:00 a.m. with one 10 minute break in the morning, a Job Fair luncheon for students and employers (attendance is free for students) and then one more mid-afternoon break before the last set of interviews for the day.  Interviews will conclude 4:30 p.m.

NETWORKING EVENT

On Friday, August 2, there will be law student/attorney networking dinners for all law students who are interested in attending who are registered for the Job Fair.  The networking dinners will give lawyers and students an opportunity to do some informal networking.  

STIPEND

The St. Louis Diversity Job Fair offers full or partial stipends to students who are unable to attend the Job Fair without financial assistance.  Students who need financial assistance to contact Danielle Carr at jdc@greensfelder.com. Application must be completed in order to be considered for a stipend and must be submitted by Monday, July 1, 2013 at midnight (CST).

Student Registration Information

Student registration opens on April 1, 2013!

Students will register for the IndyBar Diversity Job Fair via Symplicity’s web site.  After the student submits his/her registration, an automatically-generated password will be provided, which will enable him/her to use the system throughout the next few months. The student registration deadline is July 7, 2013.

Hotel Registration

The IndyBar Diversity Job Fair interviews will be held at the Hilton Indianapolis Hotel and Suites, 120 West Market Street, Indianapolis, IN on August 7-8, 2013. Overnight room rates for students are $129. Students will be responsible for making their own travel and lodging arrangements. Contact the hotel directly at 317-972-0600 to reserve a room. Interview Process

Each full day employer schedule contains 14 candidate interviews.  Twelve interviews are with students selected by the employer from among interested students, while the remaining two interviews are assigned based on student interest alone.  Students will participate in a maximum of 7 interviews throughout the day, based upon employer and student interest and availability. All interviews will take place at the Hilton Indianapolis Hotel & Suites in individual private suites.

2013 CMBA Diversity Job Fair

The Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association is pleased to invite your organization to participate in the 2013 CMBA Diversity Job Fair. The Job Fair offers Employers the opportunity to interview quality applicants from a diverse candidate pool for summer and/or full-time employment. In addition, new and seasoned attorneys, and eligible law students are offered the opportunity to interact with potential employers.

2013 Loyola Patent Law Interview Program

Loyola University Chicago School of law is hosting the 2013 Patent Law Interview Program on Thursday, August 1 and Friday, August 2 in Chicago, Illinois.  This is a nationwide interview program that targets patent law employers, rising 2L (class of 2015) and 3L (class of 2014) students. 

Last year roughly 120 employers, 190 law schools, and 1,700 law students from across the country participated in the program.  The program is entirely pre-selected, which means that students submit resumes and transcripts to bid on interviews with the employers they are interested in, and employers then review the materials of the students who bid on them and select the students they wish to interview at the program.  Last year, approximately half of the participating students were selected for interviews.

Students with undergraduate or graduate degrees in engineering or a technical science should consider registering for the program.  You do not need to be patent bar eligible to register, although the vast majority of employers participating in the program are seeking patent bar eligible students.

Online student registration for this year’s Patent Law Interview Program will begin on Monday, February 11 and close on Monday, March 4.  On February 11, online registration will open at https://patentlawregistration.luc.edu/lawstudents/Default.aspx. At this stage of registration, you will only need to enter some basic information (you will upload your resume and bid on interviews later in the semester).  Please note that our school is listed alphabetically as Capital University Law School on the registration form’s drop down menu of law schools. 

We will be paying the $35 registration fee for our students, so you will not be charged anything when you register online.

Once you have registered, the program staff will communicate with you directly via email to the address that you entered when registering for the program.
